Agent value capture helps workspace and team administrators understand what each agent delivers. Agent owners describe value in structured categories with estimated and realized figures, and optionally rate how critical an agent is to day-to-day operations.

Capture methods

When enabled, a workspace can use one or both methods:

Quantifiable value

Each entry combines a category (for example Time savings, Cost reduction, Revenue increase) with an estimated and/or realized value. Use monthly figures where possible (e.g. ”~$8,400 / month”) so values stay comparable across agents. Every entry has two figures, and each is optional as long as one of them is filled in:
  • Estimated — a free-text estimate of the value the agent creates, entered up front. This can be quantitative (”~$8,400 / month”) or anecdotal (“Opens up new business opportunities”).
  • Realized — the value observed once the agent is running. Choose how it is tracked:
    • From usage (the default for new entries) — set a numeric amount and optional unit (for example $ or USD), pick all interactions or a specific channel (for example Email or Scheduled triggers), and let the Value dashboard compute the period total from usage counts, or
    • Manual entry — a free-text figure (same style as estimated).
An interaction is a trigger run the agent acted on (spam-filtered emails, for example, are excluded) or a chat conversation — a conversation counts once per day it has at least one user message, regardless of how many messages are exchanged. The estimated and realized figures each track their own last-edited time — shown as a small clock you can hover — so you can tell at a glance whether either figure is fresh or has gone stale, independently of the other. Workspace admins manage the category list — rename, reorder, recolor, add, or delete unused categories. Categories in use by an agent cannot be deleted until those agents are updated.

Criticality for operations

A single choice: If this agent was removed…
  • Impossible to operate
  • Major impact
  • Minor impact
  • No impact
These four levels are fixed in the current release.

Required fields and compliance

Workspace admins can require at least one quantifiable value entry and/or a criticality level for all agents. Team admins may tighten these rules for their team but cannot make a field optional if the workspace requires it. When fields are required but empty:
  • Agent owners see a warning banner in the Value capture section on Main Settings (when enabled by the workspace admin)
  • Main Settings shows a warning indicator when required fields are missing
  • The agent management table shows a warning icon and summarizes captured value in the Value & criticality column
  • Team admins can view compliance counts on the team’s Settings tab

Where to find it

  • Workspace → Settings → Value capture — master toggle, categories, workspace requirements, and owner warning banner
  • Team → Settings → Agent value capture — team requirement overrides and compliance summary (when teams are enabled)
  • Agent → Settings → Main Settings → Value capture — owner entry form (when the feature is enabled for the workspace)
  • Agent management — column summary and missing-field indicators for admins
Workspace Explorer and Team Explorer agents can list agents with valueEntries and criticality, and call summarize_workspace_value_capture or summarize_team_value_capture for aggregate reports.
